Integrative Dry Needling

IDN is not acupuncture; it is based on a neuroanatomy and modern scientific study of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. A very fine filament needle is inserted through the skin and into the deeper tissues that are considered trigger points to your pain. After consulting with your doctor, we do accept IDN only patients — however, IDN is a self-pay service. Most insurances do not cover this service at this time.

First session is free | Following sessions $15

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

IASTM uses a set of stainless-steel instruments to help facilitate healing to soft tissue injuries, muscles, neurological tissues and skin. It is effective for soft tissue injuries like repetitive stress injury, strains, sprains, and subluxations. This soft tissue mobilization technique treats a wide number of conditions, including rotator cuff pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow and even headaches. This technique has proven results for patients.

The benefits of IASTM include:
• Increased rate of volume and blood flow to affected areas to enhance healing
• Reduction in inflammation
• Reduction in pain for better quality of life
• Increased mobility and ability to perform daily tasks

Cupping

Cupping Therapy is a practice in which the therapist puts special cups on the skin to create suction. Gently applying silicone cups to the affected area. The soft tissue will begin to rise within the cup and develop into a reddish pink color. The therapist glides the cups along your skin using light, medium or strong pressure – based on your personal preference and comfort level. Your therapist will adjust the amount of pressure. Cupping is effective for chronic neck pain, low back pain and fibromyalgia. It has also been shown to relax muscles, release trigger points, improve lymphatic flow, increase local circulation and release scar tissue adhesion.

KT Taping

Kinesio-taping is a technique used by placing elastic therapeutic tape around problematic areas as you go about your daily business and routine, including engagement in any level of physical activity or exercise. The tape exudes a pulling force, allowing for free range of motion while still providing a therapeutic pressure to the targeted areas. The goal of kinesio-tape is to enhance blood circulation at targeted areas, thereby reducing pain and improving recovery time following an injury.

TENS Units

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a therapeutic method of pain relief involving the use of a mild electrical current, that utilizes self-adhesive electrodes placed around the targeted treatment area on the body. These electrodes are connected via wire leads to the unit, through which electricity can pass and ultimately interact with sensory and/or motor nerves. Some people may describe it feeling like a gentle massage on their skin.

There are several Electrical Stimulation modes that use different types of currents intended to stimulate different nerves in a variety of specific ways. These includes modes such as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), interferential, pre-modulated, Russian, and symmetrical or asymmetrical bi-phasic. Your physical therapist will decide the right one to meet your unique needs.
The benefits of TENS include:
• Reduce, eliminate, and/or control pain (both acute and chronic)
• Increase local circulation
• Decrease swelling
• Improve range of motion
• Reduce muscle spasm
• Provide biofeedback (aka improve body awareness)
• Improve motor coordination
• Provide neuromuscular re-education

Traction

Cervical and lumbo-pelvic Traction is a therapeutic method to relieve pain by stretching and mobilizing the spine. Placing a stretch on the spine separates the vertebrae and helps to relieve direct nerve pressure and stress on the vertebral disc, improving discal nutrition while decreasing symptoms of nerve related pain. Spinal stenosis, disc herniation, spondylosis, and spondylolisthesis are a few of the diagnosis in which cervical/pelvic traction will aid in decreasing symptoms originating at the spine itself.

“We at Frazier Physical Therapy work to meet our patients needs, while each program is custom to their particular case. Whatever surgery or injury a person may have, we help them along their recovery process, while working to improve their overall quality of life.

— NOLEN ESPARZA, Physical Therapist / Co-Owner
